Privacy Policy

How I collect, use, store and protect your personal information — including the health information you share with us.

Last updated 8 September 2026

Albury Hypnotherapy (ABN 96 229 463 752) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how I handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

The information I collect

I collect only what I need in order to provide my services to you:

  • Contact details — your name, email address and phone number, provided when you enquire or book an appointment.
  • Health information — what you tell me about the concerns you'd like to work on, and any notes made during sessions. Health information is classified as sensitive information under the Privacy Act and is given a higher level of protection.
  • Booking and payment records — appointment history and payment confirmations. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are never seen or stored by me.
  • Website usage data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, collected through Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

How I use it

Your information is used to:

  • provide hypnotherapy services and maintain clinical records;
  • schedule, confirm and remind you about appointments;
  • process payments;
  • respond to your enquiries.

I do not sell your information, and I do not use it for marketing without your express consent.

Consent

By booking an appointment or submitting an enquiry, you consent to me collecting and using your information as described here. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting me, though this may mean I can no longer provide services to you.

Who I share it with

Your information is confidential. I disclose it only where you have consented, or where I am are required or permitted by law — for example, where there is a serious and imminent threat to someone's life, health or safety, or in response to a court order.

I use the following service providers, who handle data on my behalf:

  • Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace) — appointment booking, reminders and scheduling records.
  • Stripe — payment processing, through Acuity's own Stripe connection. Stripe handles your card details directly under its own privacy policy; they never reach this website and I never receive them.
  • Google Analytics — anonymous, aggregated website usage measurement.
  • Web3Forms — delivers messages sent through the contact form to my inbox.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia. By using the booking system you consent to this overseas disclosure.

How I store and protect it

Clinical records are kept securely and I am the only person with access to them. I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. Records are kept for as long as my professional and legal obligations require, and are securely destroyed after that.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct anything inaccurate or out of date. Contact me using the details below. I will respond within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances I may decline access, and if so I will explain why in writing.

Cookies

This website sets cookies that are necessary for it to function, cookies set by the embedded booking system, and Google Analytics cookies that measure how the site is used. I do not use advertising or remarketing cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser opt-out add-on. The site works normally either way.

Complaints

If you believe I have mishandled your information, please contact me first so I can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
